We give your switchboard a basic check on every job, even when it isn't why we came, and a straight answer on its condition.
You know what the first hour costs before we arrive. Clear jobs get a fixed quote up front.
We work clean, tidy up properly and leave nothing behind for you to deal with.
Every job is done by a licensed electrician, tested properly and signed off before we leave.
If something doesn't need doing, we'll tell you. If it does, we'll explain why in plain English.
Free on every job
Old switchboards with ceramic fuses were built for a different era. They can't keep up with modern appliances and don't give you proper safety switch protection. So whatever we've come to do, we give your board a basic check and tell you exactly where it stands.

Our favourite work
1950s to 80s houses are our favourite. New lighting, a safer switchboard, same character.
We are Beaches locals with a real soft spot for the area's older homes, and they are still the jobs we enjoy most. We keep what makes the house special and bring the electrics up to today: lighting that flatters the room, power where you need it, and a board that can handle modern life.

About Loony Leads
Loony Leads Electrical was founded in July 2025 by Patrick Kaleta, who grew up in North Curl Curl, started his apprenticeship in 2012 and has been a licensed electrician since 2015. Before that he spent close to fourteen years in his family's electrical business, learning the trade properly, from the ground up.
The company runs on one rule: quality over speed, every time. The name is a little loony. The work never is.
Today Loony Leads works as a team, with a qualified tradesperson and an apprentice on the tools. Every job is still overseen by the founder, so the standard holds as the business grows.

Where we work
Based on the Beaches, with roots in North Curl Curl. These are the suburbs we work in most, and we cover the streets around them too.
Good to know
Our rate is $175 an hour plus GST, which includes a qualified tradesperson and an apprentice, plus a $100 service fee plus GST, so the first hour is $275 plus GST. Materials are extra. Clear jobs like ceiling fans, groups of downlights and switchboard upgrades get a fixed quote before we start.

Yes. Whatever job we come out for, we give your switchboard a free basic check and tell you straight what condition it is in, with no pressure to upgrade. A detailed inspection with a written report is $250 plus GST.
We work across the Northern Beaches, including Dee Why, Manly, Mona Vale, Mosman, Frenchs Forest, Freshwater, Collaroy, Balgowlah, Newport and the suburbs around them.
Yes. Loony Leads Electrical Pty Ltd holds NSW contractor licence 503133C (class Electrician) and is insured, and our founder has held his electrical licence since 2015.

Yes. We install home EV chargers on a dedicated circuit after checking your switchboard and supply, plus smart lighting, TV wall mounting and data points.
Yes. We test and tag portable appliances, leads and power boards for homes, rentals and workplaces. Ask us for a quote based on how many items you have.
